ARTICLE WRITTEN BY “RICHPUB” – GET DOWN IN WRIGLEYVILLE…

Total-U-Fitness and reality fitness program contestant get down in Wrigleyville

There is a time to work, or workout, as it were, and there is a time to celebrate – to party. In the case of Craig Asbach, the time to work lasted for 90 days. If you ask Tony and Michelle Myatt, with Ringwood based Total-U-Fitness and hosts of Totally Fit Radio, for Asbach, the time to work isn’t over.  Now, it’s a question of whether Asbach can keep off the weight he lost.

Where the Myatts and Asback agree is that April 18 was definitely the day to party.

Asback and the Myatts were among other revelers that day as one of the teams competing in the reality fitness show “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.” All of the teams had reason to celebrate. All of the teams were comprised of fitness trainers and a contestant seeking to reach a goal in terms of how much weight they could lose. Combined, they lost about 500 pounds. Of that, Asbach lost 77.

Asbach’s success is attributable to several factors: his commitment to the program and the various aspects of the particular program the Myatt’s prescribed for the McHenry County resident.

As the name of their company suggests, the Myatts have a total approach to fitness. As the program Asbach worked for 90 days indicates, the total approach works. That program included:

Strength training

Cardiovascular exercise

Martial arts

Wellness coaching

Massage

Chiropractic fitness

Nutritional coaching and a healthy diet

Dietary Supplements from pAGG

What is a post-production party for a reality fitness program like? The Rockit Bar & Grill, 3700 N. Clark, Chicago, is kitty corner to Wrigley Field, and in a neighborhood where a room full of winners is a rare find. That night in mid April, the top floor of the Rockit Bar & Grill was packed with trainers, contestants, friends and the production team from the program.

The final episode was televised on flat-screen televisions around the room. Cameras flashed about the room as everyone in the program posed for pictures. Andrea Metcalf, the host of the program, spoke. Her team of producers, camera crew and others – they spoke. Each contestant took a turn with the microphone.

When Asbach spoke, he expressed gratitude to the Myatts and the others who had worked with him. He also indicated that he realizes he has work to do, yet. The Myatts seemed to appreciate that acknowledgement.

The event offered a sense of camaraderie between the trainers and contestants, the kind you see between people who have gone through a trying experience together. Still, there was a measure of the competition that drove them on. As Myatt put it, “This gives us bragging rights. The program was as much a question of which trainer’s system works the best as it was a question of which contestant could make the commitment.”

Building more muscle…

This is a must! It will take you forever to gain muscle if you don’t do this…If you gain at all! You will not build the muscle you want if you don’t …Push each exercise set to near “failure”. Failure means you couldn’t do another rep due to fatigue. We have tendency to stick to a predetermined number in our head of reps to do. Instead, go for the fatigue! Don’t give up too soon…and your muscles will reap the benefit.
